CNS & ADHD:

We believe proper diagnosis of specialists and adequate multi-modal treatment gives affected children and adolescents the best basis to overcome and cope with their symptoms of hyperactivity, impulsiveness and co-morbidities.
The latest findings show that about 3-5 % of all school children aged between 6 and 15 years are affected by attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) with the core symptoms of inattention, impulsiveness and hyperactivity stable in several settings, like at school, among peers and at home with the family. Underlying is a disturbance in the dopaminergic system of the central nervous system. Awareness of teachers and parents and a proper diagnosis by specialits should be followed by a multi-modal approach with psychological training, behavioral therapy and often pharmacotherapy facilitating psychological approaches. For pharmacological intervention, methylphenidate is recommended the first line treatment.
